Freeze 24/7 - Is It The Real Deal, Or Not?

I've been seeing a lot of the new "Freeze 24/7" product in magazines and online and before I shell out a whopping $145 (CDN) on this product, I'd really like to know if it's the real deal - or not.

So I'm asking you, dear reader, if you've tried Freeze 24/7 please "dish out the dirt" on this product. Is it the real deal -- or just really expensive moisturizer?

If you've tried it, I wanna know! Please post comments below and let me and everyone else what YOU (not a case study published on their site, etc, but a real living breathing woman!) thought of it.

• Does it work?
• Did you see a "dramatic difference"?
• Was it worth it?
• Would you recommend it?

According to the Freeze 24/7 web site, they say:

Hope might not exist in a jar, but miracles do. This dream cream is for real and delivers a powerful punch against wrinkles. Watch them melt away within minutes.

* 50-90% reduction in the visible apperance of fine lines and wrinkles within minutes of application.

* Freeze 24/7 Age Reversal Technology works to diminish the appearance of forehead creases, droopy brows, crow's feet, furrows, laugh lines, feathered lips, and more.

* Reduces the appearance of acne scars, s-t-r-e-t-c-h marks, rosacea, and enlarged pores.

* A safe alternative to Botox® which produces results - not side effects.

* Gives skin a plumper, more youthful appearance.

Why You Never Need To Buy Eyeliner Again!

My biggest secret tip this month:

Why you never need to buy eyeliner again and how to make sure your eyeliner always matches your shadow -- guaranteed.

(Before reading this, make sure you've read the previous post on "Second Base Eyeshadow Base" from Too Faced products because this next tip depends entirely on your having Second Base in your make up bag.)

Until the beginning of January, my preferred eyeliners were Rimmel's "Exaggerate" Eye Definer in "Steel", "Aubergine", "Ocean", and the basic Rimmel "Black". For an inexpensive liner (about $4.99 CDN) it really held up against some of the more expensive liners I'd tried so it was always my favorite.... until just recently.

While applying "Second Base" from Too Faced one morning, I realized, since it holds the shadow on so well on the lids, maybe I could apply a little under the eye as well, then use one of my new Sugar Shadows (also from Too Faced) to create my very own, perfectly matched "Eye Liner". It worked amazingly well and I've never used actual eye liners since.

Of course I'd never go out without eye liner (this being the one item I would absolutely need if I could only use one product before heading out the door) so I'm not saying I'm leaving the house "linerless". Just the opposite in fact!

Using a swipe of Second Base under the eye and on the lid, I take my "Pencil Tip" brush (Elegant Faces brush collection) and dip it into my preferred shadow of the day. For example, yesterday I chose "Too Faced Sugar Shadow" in "Caviar Dreams" (this is a very dark grey shadow) and applied that as an upper, then lower liner. The result is totally amazing!

Next, I took a larger shadow brush and applied the violet from the "Too Faced Fairy Tale" shadow duo (see previous post on that) over the lid, added a touch of the yellowish/gold shadow from Fairy Tale, then to finish, I applied a sweep of "Violet Vengeance" Sugar Shadow. (I absolutely LOVE the Sugar Shadows and soon I'll complete my collection by ordering Champagne Wishes and Frozen Roses.)

Now in the above example I haven't matched the shadow turned liner with the lid color because I've been using lighter colors lately, but you can easily do this if you prefer a bit of a darker shadow color on your lids.

For example, you can get the "Ooh and Aah" duo shadow from Too Faced, use the darker side for the liner above and below, then apply a sweep of the lighter shadow on the lids and use the darker portion in the crease.

The result, a totally amazing and perfectly matched shadow/liner combination!

Best of all, using this tip you can miraculously transform any eye shadow in your collection into a brand new liner!

Too Faced "Second Base" Eyeshadow Base

You've Gotta Try: Too Faced "Second Base" Eyeshadow Base

My biggest "secret weapon" in my make up collection today has got to be "Second Base" eyeshadow from Too Faced Cosmetics. It takes only an extra 10 seconds to apply in the morning and keeps your shadow in place, creaseless and beautiful all day.

This is a luxuriously soft and silky "buttery yellow" base that goes under your eyeshadow. The biggest benefit of Second Base (they've also got First Base but it's got a bit of an iridescent glimmer to it) is the way your shadows go over top without creasing. It keeps your shadow in place for hours and hours.

(I confess I end up going to bed without taking my make up off quite often and I've woken up the next morning with my shadow perfectly in place!)

You can get Too Faced Cosmetics from:
Shop for Too Faced products!

If you live in the USA then you can snag this amazing product for about $15 and it's well worth it. I've been using it since Dec. 26th, daily, and have barely made a dent in it. One sweep over your eyelids is all you need.

The first time I tried Second Base I got 3 compliments on "how amazing" my eye shadow looked and I'd used the same old shadow I always did (that was before I found the Too Faced shadow collection!), with the only change being the Second Base that I applied under my shadow.

Second Base will enrich the color of your existing shadow and may appear slightly darker than usual, so use a slightly lighter touch with applying your shadow. With this under, a little goes a long way!

For anyone interested in trying something new, grab either the First or Second Base product and check out my next post. It'll save you from ever having to buy eye liner again AND will guarantee your eye liner always matches your shadow, perfectly!

Ladies (and gentlemen too, of course!)...

I want to know... what's in your shopping bag?

Obviously I'm not the only one out there treating myself to a few new goodies every week or two (or maybe a bit more often than that!) and I want to know what's in your shopping bags. What did you order online this week? What did you get last week? Do tell!

You can respond to every post here so if you've bought a product that you see on this list then I want to know what you think. Give us the low down on your fabulous finds!

Feel free to share your make up tips or submit a comment. Just scroll down under this post and click the COMMENT link.

Come on... you know you want to confess your shopaholic sins!

I found a couple online forums where you can login and post your favorite finds but every one of those forums seems to be geared towards the under twenty crowd so I'm thinking about forming a similar site, but geared towards women (and men too, of course!) over the age of 20. I've noticed that on a couple of these sites you can upload pics of stuff you've bought, get fashion advice from other board members and show off your stuff.

Since I work from home as an Executive Director for an Internet Marketing company (name withheld because they'll cut my pay if they see I've got THIS much left over for designer makeup, etc) I have plenty of time (NOT DURING WORK) to browse the net and shop online and think a beauty buzz community might be something I'd want to start soon.

P.S. Anyone out there get one of those Marc Jacobs velvet shoulder bags? If so, gimme all the details! I bet you got compliments like crazy. I'd get one IF they weren't sold out everywhere I tried including Neiman Marcus, etc.

Too Faced "Sugar Shadow" in Violet Vengeance!

Best eye shadow find this year goes to: Too Faced "Sugar Shadow" in Violet Vengeance!

Here's the run down on this amazing eye shadow:

Inspired by the stars in the sky, and more importantly, the ones on the red carpet, each of these pure pigment color powders contains a secret mixture of intense color and shimmering stardust.

Too Faced "Sugar Shadow" (Pictured is Champagne Wishes)

To Use: Brush over lids for a wash of soft, glimmering color, layer for more intensity, or add a drop of water for an intense, metallic finish. Can also be applied to face, lips, or body.

The Sugar Shadow pictured above isn't the one I bought but I didn't want to drag out my digital camera just to get a picture of it, but I managed to find an image OF the actual Violet Vengeance color I selected.

Here's the Sugar Shadow in Violet Vengeance:

Where to Buy: Get Sugar Shadow Here!
Price: $13.50

If they're sold out there I recommend you check back. I had to try a couple times to get the Violet Vengeance one.

Now here's one of my BEST EYE SHADOW tips for you:

I took the Too Faced Sugar Shadow Violet and used that as a base coat, then in the crease I applied the yellow from the Duo Shadow (Fairy Tale) I talked about in another post, and finally, added the light violet from the Fairy Tale duo as a wash overtop of everything else and then applied (you don't know about this yet but I bought another Sugar Shadow too - eek!) Sugar Shadow in Caviar Dreams as a slightly smudged liner.

I'll tell you all about WHY I've thrown away ALL my eye liners in another post because this next tip is WAY too good to keep to myself.

Too Faced "Blush Bouquet" (Hibiscus Breeze)

Too Faced "Blush Bouquet"

In the February issue of In Style they had a beauty buzz section on blushes, particularly recommending a cream or gel blush as opposed to powder (which I usually use), so I set out to find something by Too Faced (my favorite brand) or perhaps Stila, Benefit, Bare Escentuals or Cargo.

What I came up with:

(I selected Hibiscus Breeze but the photo below is Freesia)

The beauty of a fresh bouquet of flowers mingled with the natural flush of a wind-swept day - that's what you get in every tube of Too Faced Blushed Bouquet gel blushes.

Each tube is actually pigmented using fresh aromatic flower petals (hibiscus, tuberose, freesia, and rose petals) for cheeks and lips that glow with fresh-picked color.

To use: Dab onto fingertips then onto cheeks or lips in a gentle tap and blend motion. Can also be applied directly from the tube, for added intensity.

I love the look of this blush when it's applied as it is very sheer and only gives the slightest hint of color to the apples of the cheeks so I do really recommend it. Plus it won't dry out your skin like powder blushes.

Oh, and being a self confessed package junkie... the tube is very beautiful!

Where to Buy: Sephora
Price: $21.50

But there is something you should know in advance. The blush is made with pure flower extracts and that means it smells like whatever flower/color you select. So make sure you pick a color that's right for you and select one with a flower you love the smell of. I'd rather have the one that smells like rose petals, but didn't realize this in advance so I'll have to order that one and repot back another day on it!

Great Tip: Blush Bouquet can also be applied to the lips and eye lids!

Too Faced "Fairy Tale" Duo Shadow

Too Faced "Fairy Tale" Duo Shadow

On Thursday I received my newest delivery of cosmetic goodies, including:

"Fairy Tale" Too Faced Duo Shadows

I was a bit hesitant to order this as I usually used to a darker, smokier look for my shadows but in the last few issues of In Style magazine I've been seeing a lot lighter eye shadow colors....

So I went for it and I'm thrilled I did.

Here's the rundown on this eye shadow:

Pure enchantment. For dreamy bedroom eyes, sweep on the Fairy Tale duo from Too Faced.

The colors are a buttercup yellow/gold with a beautiful violet shimmer.

The pair are housed in a charming little compact.... for happily ever after.
